In just a few weeks, Ottawa will see the end of the seemingly endless summer induced by global warming. And what a beautiful summer it has been, turning this region into a new Southern California, thankfully free of wildfires. For those of you who have benefited from reading some great novels in the glorious sunshine, there is still time to fit in a few more summer reads. In this issue of the Ottawa Review of Books, we offer our insights into the works of Canadian fiction writers Catherine Black, Wayne Ng, Anne Emery, Chadwick Ginther, and a recent translation from German by Canadian translator Luise von Flotow.
